Prayer in Deed. Indeed. As Prayer permeates the
story of Damien, it manifests through the toils of
those surrounding him - tearing down "weathered
walls," extending a hand to hold while "going
through", lifting up when one has fallen, ushering in
Joy when delivered from Destruction. Liturgical Dance
embraces "ritual of public worship" choreography,
embodying dramatic release of inner conflict,
emotional expression of worship, communal celebration
of resolution. Intimations of ancestral
African/Haitian motions heighten the unspoken journey
of Damiem from self destruction to ultimate salvation.
